Open Enrollment

Register at any Marana school, no matter where you live. 
Marana schools offers many choices in education for students and their families. Open enrollment begins in December of the prior school year and applications are approved on an ongoing basis. While most schools in the District will have space for open enrollment students, some grade levels or campuses will have closed enrollment because of growing student populations.

Apply for Open Enrollment

  • Open Enrollment is for students who wish to attend an MUSD school where they do NOT live in the school’s attendance boundaries.
  • Only students who reside outside of a school’s attendance boundaries need to apply for open enrollment.
  • A student who currently attends a District school through open enrollment does not have to complete an open enrollment application for the subsequent school year as long as they remain at the same school. 

Apply for 2025-26 Open Enrollment!

Open Enrollment for the 2025-2026 school year opens on November 1 in the Marana Unified School District! Apply for one of our exceptional schools, including the new K-8 opening in Gladden Farms!

  • Review the guidelines to apply for open enrollment (above). Make sure you qualify!
  • Open Enrollment first priority review begins December 15, 2024 for those who applied by December 15. These families will be notified by January 15, 2025.
  • Complete the 2025-2026 Open Enrollment Application
  • Applications received after December 15, 2024 will be continuously reviewed. Families can expect a response for these applications beginning February 15, 2025 or within approximately three business weeks from submitting their application, whichever is later.

2024-25 Open Enrollment

  • Open Enrollment first review began 2/1/24. Families were notified by 2/28/24.
  • After 2/1/24, applications will be continuously reviewed. Families can expect a response within approximately three business weeks from submitting their application.
  • Complete the 2024-2025 Open Enrollment Application

* Available capacity figures that are listed above may vary for special education programs and students based on the specific special education needs of an open enrollment applicant. If the specific needs of an open enrollment applicant would require the hiring of additional District staff, open enrollment will be denied based on the fact that the District cannot serve the student with its existing staff.
